Establishing Routine

Most students are going back to school online, and this year will be looking much different. This summer has been a blur, and I’m confident that many sleep schedules were out of sorts! Starting a new school year at home can cause a lack of motivation, and it is extremely important that you establish a personal routine to help you through the school day. Luckily I’m here to give you a few tips on creating a routine.

Tip #1: Sleep schedules

Going to sleep early is the most important tip! Your body needs to refuel at the end of the day. Before you get in bed, make sure to plug in your phone and give your eyes a break. Using your phone before bed can make it harder to fall asleep. Instead, read a book or jot down some thoughts in a journal! When you wake up the next morning, I guarantee that you will feel more awake for school.

Tip #2: Eat a Breakfast with Protein!

When looking for something to satisfy your stomach, try gravitating towards food with protein. I understand the temptation of choosing cereal every morning, but choosing something like eggs will keep you fuller longer (It’s also a lot healthier!). Also, this is a reminder to drink a glass of water!

Tip #3: Make Your Bed!

This may seem silly, but it is scientifically proven that making your bed in the morning increases your productivity. Open your window, make your bed, and clean up your study space! A clean space creates a clear mind.

Finding motivation may be more difficult this year since we are all at home, but following simple tips may increase your productivity. I wish you all a great school year!
